If you’d like to share a funding opportunity’s description and eligibility criteria with your colleagues, including those who don’t have an Instrumentl account, our download feature allows you to do just that! Below are instructions for downloading a PDF of a funding opportunity page.

Please note that downloading grant pages as PDFs is a feature only on paid plans, so this option isn't available on the free trial. See our Pricing page here.

How to download a Funding Opportunity page

From the Matches tab

When viewing your Opportunity Matches, click on the Download PDF button on the far right, next to the icons for other actions—Expand , Share this grant ✉️ and Suggest an update .

From your Tracker

Select the saved grant from your Tracker that you'd like to download.

Next, navigate to the Funding Opportunity tab and click the Download PDF icon on the far right before you get to the Status, Opportunity Notes and Your Cycle.

Note: You cannot download a "custom grant" as a PDF.

From a full-view grant page

When viewing a Funder 990 Report, you can open up a full-view Opportunity page by clicking on a linked grant under the section, Active Opportunities.

From there, you'll find the Download PDF  button on the far right within the 'OPPORTUNITY' tab.

What does the grant PDF include?

PDF downloads of funding opportunities from Instrumentl's database are static, meaning you cannot customize which sections to include or in what order.

Grant information included:

  • Grant name

  • Funder name

  • Link to live opportunity page in Instrumentl (need an active account to view)

  • Grant website

  • Deadline

  • Key Details

    • Grant amount

    • cause areas (previously referred to as "fields of work")

    • Applicant type

    • Funding uses

    • Location of project

    • Location of residency

  • 990 Snapshot

    • Financials

    • Key People

    • Funder location

  • Overview

  • Eligibility*

  • Ineligibility*

(*Not all opportunities will include eligibility and ineligibility sections.)

Open up the PDF once it's downloaded to your computer, and it will look something like this:

Downloading a funding opportunity is a great way to export the description and eligibility criteria outside of Instrumentl, especially if you need to share it with an external stakeholder who doesn't have access to Instrumentl.

Now that you know how to download an opportunity page, check out how to download a funder page.
