After setting up a project in the "classic experience", you may wish to tinker with the selected keywords or update other fields. You can return a project to its draft state in order to make the changes you want. There's no limit to how many times you can change your project setup.
❗ This article is dedicated to making edits to projects that were set up using keywords, aka fields of work, aka the "classic experience".
If your project has the Prospecting Assistant (beta) enabled, refer to our guide to learn how to edit projects with Prospecting Assistant.
Project Actions
You can manage and make changes to your project by navigating to the Project Actions menu via the 3-dots that appear when you hover your cursor over a project listed in the left nav menu.
Edit project
From the Project Actions menu, select Edit to be directed to the setup screen for the chosen project.
From there, you can make the desired changes in either or both of the setup pages (1. Overview and 2. Matches Setup).
Keep in mind that making any changes will revert the project's status to Draft. This means that if you leave before saving your updates, you won't be able to view the Tracker, matches or any "view" until you select either Finish setup or Delete project.
When finished making edits to the project, proceed to the 2nd page, scroll to the bottom and click Save and Exit. Once saved, your matches will be updated immediately.
➡️
Duplicate project
The next action listed in the Project Actions menu is Duplicate. Duplicating a project creates an exact copy of its configuration.
Note: Duplicating a project does not include the original project's data — only its settings, i.e., how it's set up. Saved opportunities, Tasks, documents, etc., are not copied in bulk to the newly duplicated project.
Delete project
The last "project action" is Delete. Deleting a project permanently removes it from your account, along with all of its saved data (opportunities, notes, documents, Tasks, etc.). Please note that temporary "archiving" of projects is not supported.
Deleting a project may be necessary if you're trying to "merge" projects or access a locked project.
❗ Warning: Be careful not to delete a project unless you are certain you will never need its data again in the future. Before deleting a project, it's advised to export all its data via reports. Once a project has been removed from your account, it is queued for permanent erasure from our system.
Edit within a project
Another way to edit your project is to click the Edit Project button in the top-right corner of your screen when you're working within a project (as opposed to All Projects).
This button will direct you to the same project setup screen as described earlier.
Editing your project is a great way to tweak the results in your Matches. Read more about how to create the perfect project with keywords in the "classic experience".
