Projects in Instrumentl help organize your grant work by program, initiative, or funding focus.
While there isn’t a one-click “merge” button, you can combine two projects by moving all saved opportunities into a single project and deleting the empty one.
Follow the steps below to relocate grants and consolidate your work into one project.
Note: If you'd like to create a new project or update the match criteria in an existing one, you can follow the steps outlined here.
1. Move saved opportunities over to one project
Start by moving all saved opportunities from Project A into Project B (the project you want to keep). Moving an opportunity to a new project will preserve all data saved such as notes, status, and task history.
To move an opportunity:
Open Project A.
Click into a saved opportunity from your Tracker.
In the top right section of the opportunity modal, use the Project dropdown.
Select Project B.
Repeat this process for each opportunity until Project A is empty.
2. Delete the empty project
Once all opportunities have been moved, confirm that Project A’s Tracker is empty and delete Project B.
Hover over the project name in the left-hand navigation.
Click the 3 dots to see more options.
Select Delete Project and confirm.
This will permanently remove the empty project from your account.
3. Edit the new, combined project
After consolidating your projects, review the remaining project’s setup to ensure everything is still accurate.
Using the same dropdown from Step 2 (3 dots next to project name), select "Edit" to confirm match criteria details such as keywords/program description, project location, funding use (e.g., General Operating, Capital, Program), etc.
Updating these details ensures your Matches stay aligned with your funding goals.
