Why projects lock
Your account has a limit to the number of active projects at any one time. This limit varies by plan. If you notice that one of your projects is locked, you've reached your maximum number of projects for the plan you purchased. This means you cannot access any of the data in the locked project.
How to know if a project is locked
Look for the padlock symbol next to the project's name on the left-hand side of your screen, as shown here:
When you try to open up the project in the Tracker, a message like the one below will appear:
How to unlock a project
There are two ways two unlock a project:
Upgrade your plan
Select Account > Settings from bottom-left-hand corner
Select Manage
Select Change your plan
Select Upgrade under a plan with a greater maximum number of projects
Once you Confirm Payment, your subscription will update to allow for more active projects, and your locked project(s) will unlock.
Delete existing projects
You may wish to remain subscribed to your current plan and maintain the same project limit. In this scenario, your only option is to delete one or more active projects. Doing so will free up your account's project capacity so that your locked project(s) take the place of those you deleted.
Note: Projects are not archived. This means that deleted projects cannot be restored or recovered.
Tip: Before you delete a project, you may want to move saved opportunities from that project to another active project so that your data isn't lost permanently upon deletion.
