Paying subscribers

You can terminate / suspend your subscription at any time, and you will retain access until the end of your billing cycle. If you subscribed to an annual contract, you will retain access through the end of the contract.

Before canceling your subscription, ensure you’ve downloaded all necessary data, as closed accounts and associated data cannot be recovered. Your data will be deleted 30 days from your last day of service. Please note that refunds are not issued for the unused time left in your billing cycle.

30-day money-back guarantee

For customers in their first year of an annual plan, we have a 30 Day Money-Back guarantee where if you decide to cancel your plan within the first 30 days, we can refund the remaining unused time of your subscription.

Alternatives to cancellation

Depending on your situation, you may prefer one of the following alternatives to cancelling your subscription outright.

Switch to monthly billing

If you are considering cancellation due to the upfront annual cost, you can switch to a monthly payment plan. Monthly payment plans allow for smaller, regular payments instead of paying the yearly subscription fee upfront. Switching to this plan can begin upon renewal of your current billing cycle.

Maintenance Mode

If you'd like to preserve your data for a reduced fee, ask us in your message about the possibility of entering Maintenance Mode. In this state, your account is placed in "hibernation", preserving all data while being billed at a significantly reduced rate. Maintenance Mode can be applied for 1 or 3 months at a time (with a maximum of 3 months per year).

You may choose to reactivate your account at any time during this period. Doing so will result in a prorated charge for the remaining time left on your billing cycle, after which regular billing will resume. If you choose not to reactivate your account early, then it'll automatically reactivate and resume regular billing once Maintenance Mode concludes.

*Note: this option is not available for all accounts.

How to cancel your subscription

To cancel your subscription, account managers can navigate to Account > Settings > Manage > Cancel subscription. Alternatively, you can send us a message through the chat box or email hello@instrumentl.com.

I cancelled my subscription, but now I want to come back - how?

To reactivate your account, simply log back into Instrumentl using the same credentials as before. You'll be taken to the Pricing page where you can compare features across all plans and see details around prices and payment options. Once you choose the plan that works best for you, a new billing cycle will begin that day.

Trial users

If you're a free trial user who hasn't yet subscribed to a plan, and you've decided not to move forward with purchasing, no worries! No payment info was collected to begin the trial, so you will not be charged once the trial ends. Rather, your account will "lock" as inactive once your free trial period ends (unless you subscribe to a plan).

*Note: you'll still receive email notifications for things like new matches and upcoming deadlines even after canceling or ending your trial. To unsubscribe, follow these instructions.
