Paying subscribers

You can terminate / suspend your subscription at any time, and you will retain access until the end of your billing cycle. If you subscribed to an annual contract, you will retain access through the end of the contract.

This end date is communicated to users at the time of cancellation, ensuring clarity on access retention.

Before canceling your subscription, ensure you’ve downloaded all necessary data, as closed accounts and associated data cannot be recovered. Your data will be deleted 30 days from your last day of service. Please note that refunds are not issued for the unused time left in your billing cycle.

Alternatives to cancellation

Depending on your situation, you may prefer one of the following alternatives to cancelling your subscription outright.

Switch to monthly billing

If you are considering cancellation due to the upfront annual cost, you can switch to a monthly payment plan. Monthly payment plans allow for smaller, regular payments instead of paying the yearly subscription fee upfront. Switching to this plan can begin upon renewal of your current billing cycle.

Maintenance Mode

If you'd like to pause your subscription, you can enter Maintenance Mode. In this state, your account is placed in "hibernation", preserving all your data. Maintenance Mode can be applied for up to 3 months priced at $5/month. You may enroll in Maintenance Mode only once per calendar year. During this period, you can choose to un-pause your account at any time or let it reactivate automatically at the end of the 3-month period.

To enter Maintenance Mode, an Admin user can go to Account > Settings > Manage > Pause subscription.

Considering a temporary pause? Follow our Guide to Maintenance Mode to learn how you can do this directly within your account.

How to cancel your subscription

To cancel your subscription, an Admin user can follow these simple steps:

1. Account:

2. Settings:

3. Manage:

4. Cancel subscription:

I cancelled my subscription, but now I want to come back — how?

To reactivate your account, simply log back into Instrumentl using the same credentials as before. You'll be taken to the Pricing page where you can compare features across all plans and see details around prices and payment options. Once you choose the plan that works best for you, a new billing cycle will begin that day.

If your subscription was canceled but you decide to rejoin within 30 days, you may be able to continue under your original pricing. Contact Instrumentl's Support team to confirm eligibility and for additional details.

Subscription Renewal Information

Instrumentl subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. To avoid unexpected charges, confirm that your cancellation request has been processed, and keep an eye on renewal notifications sent to your registered email. Once the cancellation is processed, a confirmation email will be sent with details such as the duration of continued access until the account officially closes.

Trial users

If you're a free trial user who hasn't yet subscribed to a plan, and you've decided not to move forward with purchasing, no worries! As a reminder, no payment information was collected or required to begin the trial, so you will not be charged once the trial ends. Rather, your account will "auto-lock" as inactive once your free trial period ends (unless you subscribe to a plan).

Note: Based on your email setting configurations, you may continue to receive platform email notifications for new matches and upcoming deadlines even after canceling or ending your trial. To unsubscribe from any of these emails, heading to your Settings page for more detail, you may refer to these instructions to edit email preferences.
