Grants.gov, the website that hosts Federal Government funding opportunities, often posts Forecasts. A Forecast is like a "sneak peek" of a potential new funding opportunity. It is designed to alert potential applicants to a planned grant that is not yet official.

Overview

Forecasts typically provide an overall description and the eligibility requirements of an opportunity. Sometimes they provide additional details, such as a projected deadline or a preliminary "Notice of Funding Opportunity" document.

Instrumentl understands that having the ability to track these Forecasts is essential, so we've included these opportunities in our database so that users can:

  • Stay on top of possible upcoming federal opportunities

  • Strategically prioritize and allocate time in advance

How to find Forecasts

You can find Forecasted Opportunities by searching for the opportunity or government agency using Quick find.

Notice the 'FORECAST' label next to the opportunity name.

You can discover more forecasted federal grants by navigating to the 'FUNDER' tab of the opportunity page and then scrolling down to the Forecasted Funding Opportunities section.

Currently, we're not including Forecasts in our Opportunity Matches because there is always a possibility that a forecasted federal grant won't become an available funding opportunity or that the details change significantly.

Saving Forecasts

Once you save a forecasted federal grant, you can interact with it like any other opportunity in your Tracker.

As we receive updates on the forecasted federal grant, such as when it officially goes live and applications open, we'll send you an alert so you don't miss a thing!
