When it comes to planning for the upcoming fiscal year, Instrumentl knows how important it is for folks to review opportunities from the previous fiscal year and determine if they want to reapply.
In Instrumentl, it's recommended to have one Tracker entry per application you submit. This means if you are reapplying for a grant, it's important to create a new record in your Instrumentl Tracker.
In this article, we'll cover how to get your Instrumentl Tracker prepped for the next fiscal year!
1. View the previous fiscal year in your Tracker
To view your saved grants from the previous fiscal year, navigate to your Tracker and ensure you have that fiscal year selected.
2. Populate grants for next year
As you plan for the next year, you may want to renew current grants, or re-apply to grants you've lost or submitted in previous years. Or, you may want to create another record for a multi-year grant that spans across fiscal years.
To create a new record for an upcoming year:
From your Tracker, open the grant you would consider re-applying to.
Navigate to the bottom right hand side and click the More Options drop down arrow.
Click Duplicate.
4. This will create a new entry and you can choose a new Year, Project, Status, etc. for this record.
Once you save this record, you can see the complete history for this funder on the left-hand side of the funder view.
3. Move unfinished grants from the previous year to the next year
With your previous year(s) selected, you may see grants you’d like to continue working on in the next year. For example, you may still have grants in the “Planned” status that you haven’t applied to yet.
To move grants from a past year to another year:
Open the grant from your Tracker
Navigate to the top right corner of the funder view and click the year dropdown
Select Edit Year and change the fiscal year
You're all set! Now your Instrumentl Tracker for the next fiscal year is prepared with opportunities you plan on reapplying to, as well as unfinished opportunities from the previous year.
