Instantly share your grant progress with board members or other members of your organization by downloading Instrumentl reports.

The five types of reports currently available are: Opportunities, Awards, Tasks, Contacts, and Funders.

Opportunity Report

Quickly download a PDF or CSV/Excel file including all of the Funding Opportunity data in your Tracker.

  1. Click Reports from your Tracker view.

2. Click Create Report under ‘Opportunities’.

3. Choose the Projects, Statuses and Date Range for your report. You’ll also have the option to include grants you have hidden from your Matches, to show the grants you have reviewed and marked bad fits.

4. Click the Create report button.

5. Select if you’d like to download your report as a PDF or CSV/Excel file.

This Opportunity Report will be ordered by fiscal year and include fields such as: Funder name, Funding Opportunity name, Deadline, Status, Amount, Next Task and Notes.

Please note that Opportunity Reports only show the very next upcoming task for that opportunity. If you’d like to see all upcoming Tasks, continue reading to learn how to pull a Task Report.

Pro Tip: PDF reports have clickable grant names that open a detailed Funding Opportunity page including the grant overview, eligibility information, and 990 data.

Anyone can click into the grant name and access this data - even if they don’t have an Instrumentl account!

Awards Report

Want to see all of your awarded grants in one, concise report? You can do so with the Awards Report! This report is exclusive to the Standard and Professional Plans.

When on the Tracker view, navigate to the ‘Reports’ button near the top right.

Select ‘Create Report’ for the Awards Report. You’ll then be prompted to select Projects, Statuses, Owner, and Date Range. Once finished, click ‘Create report’ > ‘Download CSV / Excel’.

Then, a CSV / Excel file will download with all of your awarded grant information. This includes columns such as: Year, Project, Funder Name, Opportunity Name, Owner, Grant Period Dates, Status, Amount Awarded, Next Report Description and Deadline, Notes, Contact Information, etc.

Task Report

Stay up to date on your grants’ action items by downloading a Task Report.

  1. Click Reports from your Tracker view.

2. Click Create Report under ‘Tasks’.

3. Select the Projects for which you’d like to see Tasks for.

4. Click the Create report button.

5. Select Download CSV/Excel.

The CSV/Excel file will populate all Tasks and their details for the associated projects.

This will include the fields: Year, Project, Funder name, Funding Opportunity name, Task type, Task Description, Due Date, Assignee, Collaborators, and Status.

Please note that the Task Report will download all Tasks for the Projects you selected, regardless of due date.

If you want to customize this Task report further, you can do that directly in Excel.

For example, maybe you want to filter the report by Assignee or Task type. Just use the filtering options in Excel. Here’s an Excel help article for more context.
