Application Cycles
Simplify deadline tracking with Application Cycles. Select the cycle you’re targeting, which could include multiple steps such as a letter of inquiry (LOI) & full-proposal. If a funder changes a deadline, we’ll notify you both in the platform and by email so you're always up to date.
You can learn more about managing your application cycle by staying organized with Instrumentl's date fields.
Smart Grant Matching
Nonprofit plans will create an "Organization Profile" for tailored match results based on precise location(s) and custom fiscal year options. Consultant Plans will instead use "Client Profiles" to match to clients.
Nonprofit Plans — Organization Profile
Nonprofits & other institutions will create an Organization Profile when initially setting up their Instrumentl account. Identify where your organization is registered and set your organization’s fiscal year.
Consultant Plans — Client Profiles & External Linking
If you have a Consultant plan, you'll create Client Profiles instead of an Organization Profile.
These function as separate profiles for each of your clients to keep you organized across project spaces and ensure your clients receive the best results. When you tie client projects to their respective client profile, the matches are tailored based on the respective client's location details.
External Client Account Linking
Paying consultant accounts can also set up a one-way link to connect their account to clients with their own Instrumentl subscriptions! Toggle between accounts to seamlessly switch between clients, access their projects and work on them directly.
This eliminates the need for multiple logins and increases collaborative ease and visibility. Your clients will not have access to your account's sensitive client data, but you can jump into a linked client's own projects at any time to work on them.
Customized Project Setup
Next, you'll specify various criteria about the project(s) your organization is working on. These include details such as the project name, applicant type, locations, Fields of Work (keywords relating to comprehensive program topics), preferred grant size, funders, funding use, etc.
Once you've completed a project's setup, Instrumentl will continuously smart match your organization’s project(s) to good fit, active funding opportunities. You’ll get weekly email notifications that identify new matches to keep you up to date on your grant search.
Even on your days off, Instrumentl is always on and working for you. Our system will continue to grab new opportunities from our comprehensive database to provide you with tailored, standout grant matches. Save yourself from countless hours of sifting through generic grants, and instead opt for a streamlined vetting process so you can focus on what matters.
Foundation Profiles
View a funder's profile to reveal key information about their historical and present operations, giving you a thorough understanding of their overall status.
Access details on giving to past grantees and the specific grant programs they host, including current opportunity deadlines & cycles. Foundation Profiles also include contact information & EINs, financial statistics, and direct links to their 990 forms.

Grant Tracker
Your grant work lives here. Using the Grant Tracker, you can add opportunities from Instrumentl’s comprehensive database as well as your own custom grants to keep them all in one place.
Organize grants by year, application stage, and project. Update the status of your submissions as you keep track of your progress and record funder responses.
Each project space has its own designated Tracker, allowing you to organize your saved grants and tailored grant matches across different programs and clients with unique needs. You'll also have the "All Projects Tracker" view of all all your opportunities.

Automatic Deadline Reminders
You’ll never miss a deadline with Instrumentl’s Automatic Deadline Reminders. We’ll email you when a deadline for a saved opportunity on your tracker is approaching or when a funder changes their deadline.

Document Library

CSV & PDF Reports

Opportunity Reports (PDF or CSV)
Tasks Reports (CSV)
Contacts Reports (CSV)
