As new opportunities are added to Instrumentl, your project Matches update automatically so you never run out of prospects.

Where to find your new Matches

You can view new Matches directly from the Matches tab within each project. You’ll also receive a weekly email on Thursdays summarizing how many new Matches each of your projects has.

To see the most recent additions:

  1. Navigate to the project you want to review

  2. Open the Matches tab

  3. Use the Best Match dropdown and select New

This will surface the newest funder and opportunity Matches for that project. New Matches are marked with a yellow “New” label, making them easy to spot as you review.

What if I don’t see all of my new Matches?

If you’re expecting to see more new Matches than are showing up, there are two common things to check.

1. Check both Match types

New Matches can appear in both Opportunity Matches and Funder Matches. Be sure to review both lists to see everything that’s new for your project.

Read more about the different types of Matches here.

2. Review your filters—especially Strict location preferences

A quick way to tell if filters are affecting what you see:

  • Compare the number of new Matches listed in your weekly email with the number shown in your Matches tab

  • If the email number is higher, your filters (most commonly Strict location preferences) may be hiding some Matches

By default, a "Strict location preferences" filter is turned on. Try reviewing any active filters to reveal additional Matches that still align with your project.

Can I export my Matches?

While you can’t export your full Matches list directly, we recommend reviewing your Matches and saving the opportunities you want to pursue to your Tracker. Once saved, these opportunities become part of your tracked pipeline and can be exported using Reports.

This keeps exports focused on the opportunities you’re actively working on, rather than your full list of potential Matches. Learn more about exporting saved opportunities here.

As Instrumentl continues adding new opportunities to the database, your Matches will continue to update. Saving and hiding Matches helps you keep your funding pipeline organized as your list grows. Learn more ways to filter and sort your Matches here.
